We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our dedicated team and contribute to our mission of protecting our clients' interests through high-quality legal services.
As a Legal Assistant at Millward Law, Ltd, you will play a vital role in our firm's daily operations, including working closely with attorney Michael G.
Millward to assist clients with trust administration matters.
You will assist these clients with meeting the legal requirements and best practices associated with trust administration.
Additionally, you will assist with preparation documents for filing in trust, probate, and guardianship matters.
Performance of these duties will require you to work independently.
Your strong verbal and written communications skills will be utilized to keep our clients regarding the status of their matters as well as correspond with the court.
Your strong organizational skills will be utilized to assist in the management of office calendar including scheduling court appearances, deadlines, client meetings, and phone calls.
These skills will benefit your case management duties such as file organization, tracking , and prioritization of work.
Your analytical skills will help assist Mr.
Millward with the proofreading and revision of draft filings and correspondence.
Your desire to learn and inquisitive nature will support your continued growth and the extent of your involvement with any given matter.
Duties Include:
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records - Assist with legal administrative tasks, including drafting and filing legal documents - Write and review correspondence and communicate effectively with clients and other parties involved in legal matters - Work directly with clients with trust administration matters including answering client questions - Review documents for accuracy and completeness - Assist with case management, including organizing and prioritizing tasks - Summarize correspondence and filed documents received from third parties.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma - Proficient typist (50
words per minute) - Quick learner and consider yourself to be tech savvy - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and also collaboratively in a team environment - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion We are excited to make this excellent opportunity available to those excited to learn and expand their knowledge and skills.
